Buying by the box is cheaper per ream. For example, the Double A box of 5 works out at about AED 15.60 per ream at the offer price, compared with AED 17.00 for a single ream.
What does GSM mean?
GSM (grams per square metre) measures paper weight and thickness.
- 70–75gsm: lighter and lower cost. Fine for internal printing, drafts and high-volume copying.
- 80gsm: the office standard. Less show-through when printing on both sides and fewer jams in most laser printers and copiers.

Is premium paper worth it?
Premium papers such as Double A are made to tighter tolerances for smoothness, brightness and moisture. In practice that means sharper print, whiter pages and fewer paper jams, which matters for busy shared printers and for documents you send to clients. For internal drafts, a standard 75gsm or 80gsm copy paper is usually enough.
A4 vs A3 paper
A4 (210 x 297 mm) is the standard size for printing and copying. A3 (297 x 420 mm) is twice the size and is used for drawings, plans, charts and wide spreadsheets. Check that your printer has an A3 tray before you buy A3 paper.
How much A4 paper does an office need?
A simple way to plan is to check how many reams you used last month and keep one month of stock in the cupboard. Order a monthly delivery so you never run out at a busy time.
Tips for storing copy paper in the UAE
- Keep reams in their wrapping until you use them, so they don’t absorb humidity.
- Store boxes flat, off the floor and away from air-conditioning vents and direct sun.
- Fan the paper before loading it into the tray to reduce jams.
